Can Art Change The World?

Dropped these at the city library last week.

Hoping some library nerds happen upon them.

Not that there's anything wrong with that :P

Pimp My Art Cards.

Told you I was addicted.

It was the Newspaper Blackout that started it.

I am going to leave these babies in my usual leaving places:

bus stops public toilets official restaurants of the World Cup train tracks the toilets at train stations parking meters supermarket shelves.  libraries.

If you found one and I was so happy I tried to take advantage of you on the podium would you mind?

If you didn't find one and you're glad I understand it's busy the rat race that's lovely you have people to see places to be seen do you know good places for me to carry out. my guerilla. mission?

I'm counting on ya.

Yes you in the black puffer jacket ...

Addicted to Newspaper Blackout

I've got a new toy.

It means I don't have to go out in public like this.

Or leave the house.

I'm addicted after 2 go's.

One of my loves right now (ok I love him less than Newspaper Blacking Out but more than weeding my garden) is Austin Kleon.

Funny as feck and 'a writer who draws'.

These are my first babies and I kind of like them:

If you imagine that finding words that weave together is a brain fart, wait till you get to the blacking out bit.

This post could have been called: 'I killed my best stuff with a too-fat marker.'

But we're not dwelling on the ones that got away.

Grab tomorrows fush and chup wrapper, a too-fat black marker because you've forgotten that it will bleed into your prized words, and have a late one . . .

What would Steven Tyler do?

It's been 7 hours and 15 days since my last weekly post and I got nothing.

Been reading highbrow this week and finding gems among the baubles among the drugs among the art.

So I thought what would Steven Tyler do?

I've also been staring at Craig Atkinsons work and trying to figure out how he does it.

Feg knows.

A good way to figure out how artists make their pictures is by copying.

So I've spent the week making pictures to "wretched excess in dandified duds."  (ST)

And I'm going to draw more.

Because Craig Atkinson is a draw-er.

When the wretched excess wears off I'll show you how it's going.

Who are your favourite artists and what do you think of Steven Tyler's duds?

Shut The Front Door, I've Just Interviewed Myself !

Last week I interviewed me :-/

If you don't have to go tidy your floordrobe, check it out.

But really this post is to tell you about the lovely Jennibellie.

Art by Living Exercises.

She's all that.

Jennibellie joins people up.

And shows us how to have fun.

I have done heaps of her videos.

Here's what I've been doing when I should have been cleaning my house (click on the words under the photo, sorry brain freeze on how to embed You Tube) :P

Who inspires you?

Why?

Look up 'Art Abandonment'. These Guys Are Guerilla Art-ing It Up!!!

A cool girl called Lynda emailed me today.

Check out 'Art Abandonment' she said.

So I did.

(Us Guerilla Artist People get each other.
We almost don't have to speak or email.
Ok we email ... but that's beside the point.)

Anyhoo. I have ripped this straight from under their Facebook noses:

"Art Abandonment is a group designed to encourage random acts of art, left in various locations around the globe. The idea is that folks can make something and leave it for a lucky unsuspecting person to find. Artists can then post locations and photos of abandoned goodies…and finders can let everyone know that they are the lucky finder! O' sweet abandon!

So leave some art. Leave a contact email for the finder…and if you get notified share the message with this group. If you prefer you can use the contact email: i.found.artwork@gmail.com we'll be checking it often and share the results."

Here's an intro page on Typepad for full explanation:http://michaeldemeng.typepad.com/art_abandonment/

So get in there and get out there.

If you know any other guerilla art sites, drop me a line.  I'm relying on ya :P
