Look up 'Art Abandonment'. These Guys Are Guerilla Art-ing It Up!!!

A cool girl called Lynda emailed me today.

Check out 'Art Abandonment' she said.

So I did.

(Us Guerilla Artist People get each other.
We almost don't have to speak or email.
Ok we email ... but that's beside the point.)

Anyhoo. I have ripped this straight from under their Facebook noses:

"Art Abandonment is a group designed to encourage random acts of art, left in various locations around the globe. The idea is that folks can make something and leave it for a lucky unsuspecting person to find. Artists can then post locations and photos of abandoned goodies…and finders can let everyone know that they are the lucky finder! O' sweet abandon!

So leave some art. Leave a contact email for the finder…and if you get notified share the message with this group. If you prefer you can use the contact email: i.found.artwork@gmail.com we'll be checking it often and share the results."

Here's an intro page on Typepad for full explanation:http://michaeldemeng.typepad.com/art_abandonment/

So get in there and get out there.

If you know any other guerilla art sites, drop me a line.  I'm relying on ya :P

part 4/4 Make An Art Journal From 4 Bits Of Paper

Finishing off the 4 Bits Of Paper Art Journal ...

If you are like me, you know how scary the white journal page is.

Like an empty room, it's not friendly.

I added art prompts, doodles, tape and scribble.

Now when I feel like using this journal I have an idea to start with. Or cover up and start again.

I would love to know how you get over the 'white journal page.'

Make my day, and leave me a comment :-D

Part 3 of Make An Art Journal With 4 Bits Of Paper. When Skinny Journals Go Phat!

This is a quick post about phat-tening up your
art journal.

Still thinking background.

Cut out pieces of paper in colours and shapes that you like.

Glue baby, glue!

The 'pieces of paper' I have stuck down here I made myself.

They are leftovers from projects that I grouped by colour and stuck them down onto paper.

When Skinny Journals Go Phat.

Give it a go :P

Part 2 of Make An Art Journal With 4 Bits Of Paper

Remember my first video Make An Art Journal With 4 Bits Of Paper?

Here's Part 2.

You've made your journal.

Now what?

Get rid of horrid, putrid, hairy scary white paper.

1.  Bust out the paint.

Cover up nasty white pages as fast as you can.

Spread the paint using an old credit card (fastest method), fingers (good for making 'roads'), hands (now we're talking, Willis) or brush.

2.  More is more.

Use at least 2 colours on every page.  Paint texture-y things and press them onto the paint.

I have used bubble wrap, home made stamps, papers with holes in them, etc.

3.  Keep going till you're done.

I don't mind pages ripping.

If you do, use your Lady Remington at least 1 minute longer than what you think it needs.

4.  And you're done.

In Part 3, I show you how to start fattening her up.

What I am curious to know is:

What's the fastest way you've found to cover up white paper?

Do you think Lady Remington minds that I love her for the way she dries my ... paint?
